The spring months aided the new start of vegetative activity, earlier than in average vintages. The summer period, marked by excellent temperature swings between daytime heat and nighttime coolness, assisted a gradual ripening of the grape bunches, fully bringing out the aromatic and flavor components of the crop and conferring elegance and finesse to the wines.
The must was fermented partly in stainless steel tanks and partly in oak barrels. The second fermentation took place in bottle and the wine remained on its lees for 60 months before dégorgement.

The estate is located in the heart of the Franciacorta production zone around the centuries-old hamlet of Calino. The vine has always been cultivated in this area of important wines. Some in fact maintain that “Franciacorta” has its origin in the phrase “Petite France”, an affectionate name given to it by Charlemagne.
