The Fattoria Aldobrandesca estate is located in the southern part of Tuscan Maremma, in the center of what is known as “the Etruscan Tuff zone”.
First Etruscan then Roman, the small town of Sovana was conquered by the Lombards who assigned it to the powerful Aldobrandeschi family, lending their name to the estate.

The estate’s 250 hectares (618 acres) of vineyards are on the slopes of a spur of tuffaceous rock where the hilltop town of Sovana is located, surrounded by a beautiful natural landscape of remarkable archeological importance.
Fattoria Aldobrandesca represents an important challenge for Marchese Antinori, to rediscover an ancient varietal such as Aleatico and to develop a newer varietal, Malbèc, a grape that has found in this area the ideal terroir to express its potential.
The pursuit to interpret a new territory for the production of the finest wines.
