At Cantina Antinori nel Chianti Classico Last November 21 was presented a new permanent work spaces of the winery Antinori Chianti Classico. The initiative is part of the program commissions and acquisitions of works "site-specific" part of Antinori Art Project, platform dedicated to interventions in the field of contemporary visual arts and artists of our time. The artist called to be part of this new installment of the project is Giorgio Andreotta Calo (Venice, 1979). The work is a sculpture created by the bronze reproduction of a 'bricola', the massive wooden pole used to moor boats in Venice. Eroded by the constant motion of the tides of the lagoon, the 'bricola' is split by the artist: the top is the reflection symmetry of the lower, again evoking the lagoon and its horizon mirror. A sculpture that speaks of time and its flow, matrix incessant transformations, and does so by capturing bronze in the corrosion process, just before the two sides of the trunk to break separating. The hourglass is not just a form, but is also a symbol of time and his work. A symbolic reference to the winery Antinori, it’s a new location, where a perfect wine is not only the result of the work of the human hand, but also of the indispensable contribution of time.
