The wines
Tignanello
Toscana IGT
Tignanello Estate
This was the first Sangiovese to be aged in barriques, the first red wine to be blended with non-traditional varieties (like Cabernet) and one of the first Chianti reds not to use white grapes. Tignanello is a milestone. It is made from a selection of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The wine is aged in barriques for about 12 months and for a further 12 months in the bottles.
Solaia
Toscana IGT
Tignanello Estate
From the sunniest part of the Tignanello hill, from the best grapes grown in the best vineyard. The rest is all passion, care, attention and research. This is how Solaia is born from the best selections of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese grown in the Solaia vineyard. The wine is aged in barriques for about 12 months and for a further 12 months in the bottles.
Marchese Antinori
Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva
Tignanello Estate
This rounded, full-bodied wine is the result of careful selection of the best Sangiovese and Cabernet grapes grown in the Chianti Classico estates. The wine is placed in new barriques where it completes malolactic fermentation by the end of the year and is aged in barriques for about 14 months. This is followed by 12 months maturing in the bottles.
Badia a Passignano
Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva
Badia a Passignano Estate
Badia a Passignano Riserva is produced exclusively from the finest grapes of the property of the same name, located in the Chianti Classico area of Tuscany. The abbey of Passignano, around whose walls the vineyards are situated, is one of the loveliest fortified monasteries of the zone and has been renowned for the quality of its wine for over a thousand years.
Pèppoli
Chianti Classico DOCG
Pèppoli Estate
This is a Chianti Classico made from Sangiovese grapes with a small addition of Merlot and Syrah, grown on the Pèppoli estate. It is designed to be drunk while the fruit is at its most expressive. It is aged in 55hl Slavonian oak barrels (10% in American oak barriques) for a maximum of 9 months, followed by a further maturing period in the bottles.
Cervaro della Sala
Umbria IGT
Castello della Sala Estate
Cervaro della Sala, the “flagship” wine of this estate, has earned important recognition and countless fond admirers. It is a blend of Chardonnay and Grechetto grapes, fermented and aged for five months in barriques. It then matures in the bottles for about 10 months in the Medieval cellars of the Castle.
Pinot Nero
Umbria IGT
Castello della Sala Estate
Made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes, this wine is in a way the “alter ego” of the Cervaro: together they represent two different aspects of the complex, sophisti- cated soul of Castello della Sala. The Pinot Nero is aged in barriques for 8 months and for the remaining 15 months in bottles in the Castle cellars.
Conte della Vipera
Umbria IGT
Castello della Sala Estate
This particularly sophisticated wine is a blend of carefully selected Sauvignon Blanc grapes with a small additional percentage of Semillon. It is fermented in wood and aged in bottles for several months.
San Giovanni della Sala
Orvieto DOC Classico Superiore
Castello della Sala Estate
This wine has a typical generous, soft, full flavour. It is made from the grape varieties typically used for Orvieto Classico (Pro- canico, Grechetto, Pinot Bianco, Viognier and Riesling).
Bramito del Cervo
Umbria IGT
Castello della Sala Estate
This wine is made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes whose varietal features are enriched by the process of alcoholic fermentation in barriques. The short ageing in wood gives the wine its straw-yellow colour and a good rounded flavour.
Muffato della Sala
Umbria IGT
Castello della Sala Estate
This fascinating wine is a blend of Sau- vignon Blanc, Grechetto, Traminer and Riesling affected by Botrytis Cinerea (no- ble rot).
The morning mists and local microclimate favour the development of this rot which reduces the water content of the grapes. The resulting concentration of sugars and aromas give the Muffato its special and un- mistakeable flavour.
Guado Al Tasso
Bolgheri DOC Superiore
Guado al Tasso Estate
This is the prestigious flagship wine of the Tenuta Guado al Tasso, and fully expresses the Bolgheri terroir in all its structure, elegance and complexity. It is made with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Petit Verdot grapes and aged from about 14 months in new French oak barriques. It then matures for a further 10 months in the bottles.
Il Bruciato
Bolgheri DOC
Guado al Tasso Estate
Il Bruciato is the younger brother of the Gua- do al Tasso, with a more contemporary style. It is grown in vineyards which are high in potential, but not quite prestigious enough to make the Guado al Tasso, although the vineyard management aims at producing the highest possible quality. The wine is aged in barriques for at least 8 months and for a further 4 months in the bottles, and is both intense and very smooth.
Matarocchio
Toscana IGT
Guado al Tasso Estate
Il Matarocchio was inspired by the desire to create, at the Guado al Tasso estate, a wine that was the maximum expression both of a single grape variety and a single vineyard plot. Our vineyards are subdivided into a myriad of small parcels, each with its own characteristics, which are harvested and fermented separately every year in order to have, in the cellars, a wide range of different wines. Il Matarocchio was born precisely from one of these sites and is a wine of great elegance and depth, one which springs exclusively from its source of origin and from a remarkable vintage such as 2007.
Scalabrone
Bolgheri Rosato DOC
Guado al Tasso Estate
Bolgheri is now famous for its mouthfilling red wines, but is also traditionally known for rosé wines with pronounced aromas. The Scalabrone rosé is made with Cabernet Sau- vignon and Merlot grapes and a small percentage of Syrah. It has a very distinct per- sonality, intense colour and a fruity bouquet.
Vermentino
Bolgheri DOC
Guado al Tasso Estate
Thanks to the specific conformation of the land and the nearby sea, the Bolgheri micro- climate is extremely favourable for growing Vermentino grapes, a variety typical of the Tyrrhenian basin. This fragrant wine has a fresh, aromatic fruity note and is distinctive- ly elegant and enjoyable.
Pian delle Vigne
Brunello di Montalcino DOCG
Pian delle Vigne Estate
A Brunello that combines typical structure and con- siderable body with unusual harmony, balance and el- egance.
The colour is an intense ruby red. Generous complex aromas of flowers, vanilla and cocoa powder. Excellent length and good balance, with a generously structured, full and velvety palate.
Pian delle Vigne Vigna Ferrovia
Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva
Pian delle Vigne Estate
Bestowed with a deep, elegant, and wonderfully luminous color, it envelops the nose with sweet spicy notes, aromas of ripe berries, and delicate hints of tobacco and chocolate. On the palate, the dense tannins stand out, intermingled with a unique mildness and freshness, a wonderful progression, and a long finish which leaves an overall sensation of great balance.
Grappa Pian delle Vigne
Grappa Riserva di Brunello di Montalcino
Pian delle Vigne Estate
Pian delle Vigne Riserva Grappa is obtained using a traditional process of distilling the marc of sangiovese grosso grapes, otherwise known as “Brunello di Montalcino”, originating from the Pian delle Vigne Estate. Rich in personality and endowed with a remarkable organoleptic structure, this grappa has a yellow golden color and offers intense and elegant olfactory characteristics; it envelops the palate with powerful sensations which are dominated by balance and not by alcoholic aggressiveness. This wine is aged in Slavonian oak barrels for 18 months.
Villa Antinori
Toscana IGT
Made from grapes carefully selected in the Marchesi Antinori’s best Tuscan vineyards. After ageing for 12 months in French, American and Hungarian oak barriques, the wine matures for a further 8 months in the bottles. This is a complex, well-structured wine with soft, stylish tannins.
Villa Antinori bianco
Toscana IGT
Made mainly from traditional Tuscan grape varieties, especially Trebbiano and Malvasia, with a small addition of Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco. The blend of native and international varieties creates a fresh, stylish wine which maintains the typical character of this region.
Marchese Antinori Nature
Spumante Metodo Classico
The Marchese Antinori Nature Spumante is prepared with great care and attention, combining in equal parts the best Pinot Nero grapes, originating from the vineyards of the Oltrepò Pavese, with Chardonnay grapes from Trentino. Hence the cuvèe, or blend, is born from the combining of two different vineyard selections carefully chosen to obtain the desired harmony.
Marchese Antinori Donna Cora
Spumante Metodo Classico
Olio Extra Vergine Laudemio
In Medieval tradition, “Laudemio” was part of the harvest set aside for the feudal lord. Marchesi Antinori’s “Laudemio” is true to the implications of its name: the best of the Chianti estates’ olives, grown and pro- duced exclusively to achieve high quality without compromise.
Although typical, the oil has individual and unmistakeable organoleptic features.
Olio Extra Vergine Pèppoli
Pèppoli Estate
The Pèppoli farm is located in the township of San Casciano Val di Pesa in the Chianti Classico production zone at an altitude of 1000-1150 (300-350 meters) above sea level. The farm covers approximately 250 acres (100 hectares), some 67 of which are cultivated to olives. The soils consist of marine deposits from the Pliocene era.
Vinsanto Tenute Marchese Antinori
Vinsanto del Chianti Classico DOC
Vinsanto production in Tuscany, and in the Chianti Classico area, dates back to Medieval times and perhaps earlier. According to tradi- tion and the strict produc- tion regulations, Vin Santo Tenute Marchesi Antinori is made from selected Treb- biano and Malvasia grapes. These are raisined according to natural procedures, re- quiring time and patience, to make an intensely enjoyable wine with generous aromas and a soft palate.
Grappa Tignanello
Grappa
Tignanello Estate
Grappa Tignanello is obtained from the distillation of the marc from the Sangiovese and Cabernet grapes growing in the Tignanello vineyard which is situated on the Antinori estate 'Tignanello' in the heart of Chianti Classico.
Brandy
In a thirty-year period our brandy is only made four times, in very limited quan- tities.
It is aged for six years in small oak barrels and has a typical very soft, elegant style.
