Egisto Ferroni and European Naturalism
Museo Civico "Giovanni Fattori" - Villa Mimbelli, Livorno
21st June - 1st September 2002
Exhibition catalogue: XYX

The first painting exhibition entirely dedicated to the Italian and European Naturalist movement between the 19th and 20th centuries, created and organised by the town of Livorno. The main feature of this exhibition was that eight splendid canvasses were on display for the first time after being recovered by the Accademia Antinori. The paintings, by Egisto Ferroni, are called the "Frassineto Cycle" because they were painted between 1878 and 1884 for the ballroom of the villa owned by Conte di Frassineto. Inspired by the Tuscan countryside, the paintings were purchased, restored and displayed to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the first Tignanello vintage.
